Exposição “Majestosa Malanga” para visitar na Galeria Kulungwana

You can visit the exhibition "Majestosa Malanga" from February 16 to March 16 at the Maputo Railway Station.
The Kulungwana Association begins its exhibition activity with the artist Famós (Felisberto Amós Tlhemo). The exhibition will be inaugurated on Thursday, February 16, at 5 pm (Mozambique time). Graduated in Electrical Engineering from the Industrial Institute of Maputo, as well as in Aesthetics from the Eduardo Mondlane University, Famós has simultaneously followed an artistic training at the House of Culture of Alto-Maé, after having obtained a university degree in Art and Education, at the Aberta University of Lisbon. His work has already been exhibited at the House of Culture of Alto-Maé, in the Descoberta Expo, the Biental TDM, the MUSART Expo, the Crescente Collection, in the collective Habitants of Drawing, and has already won several awards. The first solo exhibition - "Penumbres de la Vie" - was held in 2009, and the second in Portugal in 2017. The current exhibition at the Kulungwana Gallery is organized by Luís M. S. Santos, and sponsored by the Norwegian Embassy. Luís M. S. Santos states that the artist "challenges his artistic practice and faces new models, experimenting with materials, techniques and surfaces, and encourages us to think and reimagine Drawing and its limits. Drawing, which at one moment is presented inside door frames and at another, aspires to become a sculpture, thus forcing us to bypass it and find new perspectives". The exhibition "Majestosa Malanga" is available from February 16 to March 16, in the Railway Station of Maputo.
L’Association Kulungwana débute son activité d’exposition avec l’artiste Famós (Felisberto Amós Tlhemo). L’exposition sera inaugurée jeudi 16 février, à 17h (heure du Mozambique). Diplômé en Electrotechnique par l’Institut Industriel de Maputo, ainsi qu'en Esthétique par l’Université Eduardo Mondlane, Famós a parallèlement suivi une formation artistique à la Maison de la Culture de Alto-Maé, après avoir obtenu un diplôme universitaire en Art et Education, à l’Université Aberta de Lisbonne. Son œuvre a déjà été exposée à la Maison de la Culture d’Alto-Maé, lors de l’Expo Descoberta, de la Biental TDM, de l’Expo MUSART, de la Collection Crescente, au sein du collectif Habitants du Dessin, et a déjà obtenu plusieurs prix. La première exposition individuelle – “Penumbres de la Vie” – a eu lieu en 2009, et la seconde au Portugal en 2017. L’exposition qui se tient actuellement à la Galerie Kulungwana est organisée par Luís M. S. Santos, et parrainée par l’Ambassade de Norvège. Luís M. S. Santos affirme que l’artiste “défie sa pratique artistique et fait face à de nouveaux modèles, en expérimentant des matières, des techniques et des surfaces, et nous encourage à penser et à réimaginer le Dessin et ses limites. Dessin, qui à un moment donné est présenter à l’intérieur de cadres de porte et à un autre, aspire à devenir une sculpture, nous obligeant ainsi à le contourner et à trouver de nouvelles perspectives". L'exposition “Majestosa Malanga » est disponible du 16 février au 16 mars, dans la Station Ferroviaire de Maputo.

A Associação Kulungwana inicia a sua actividade expositiva com o artista Famós (Felisberto Amós Tlhemo). A exposição é inaugurada na próxima quinta-feira, 16 de Fevereiro, às 17h de Moçambique.
Formado em Eletrotécnica pelo Instituto Industrial de Maputo e em Estatística pela Universidade Eduardo Mondlane, Famós fez paralelamente a sua formação artística na Casa da Cultura do Alto-Maé, tendo obtido uma pós-graduação em Arte e Educação pela Universidade Aberta de Lisboa.
A sua obra já esteve presente na Casa da Cultura do Alto-Maé, na Expo Descoberta, na Biental TDM, na Expo MUSART, na Colecção Crescente, no colectivo Habitantes do Desenho, tendo obtido já diversos prémios. A primeira exposição individual – “Penumbras da Vida” – decorreu em 2009 e a segunda, em Portugal, em 2017.
A exposição patente na Galeria Kulungwana tem a curadoria de Luis M. S. Santos, com o patrocínio da Embaixada da Noruega. Luís M. S. Santos afirma que o artista “desafia a sua prática artística a encarar novos moldes, experimentando com materias, técnicas e superficies, levando-nos a pensar e re-imaginar o Desenho e os seus limites. Desenho, este que num momento se ensaia emoldurado nos aros das portas e em outro instante, ambicionando tornar-se Escultura, obriga-nos a circunda-lo a encontrar novas perspectivas”.
