Residência Artística Luuanda abre portas

Luuanda Artistic Residency opens doors

The cultural collective "Pés Descalços" (Barefoot) is carrying out the third edition of the LUUANDA artistic residency. This year, the residency will take place around the theme "Generation of Utopia", and will receive visual artists from Angola, Mozambique and Cape Verde. After three weeks of work, the artists Parasol, Stephanie Silva, Eltina Gaspar, Suekí, Avelino Assumate and Silasse Salomone will share the results of their research with the public. Organised by Carlos Major, with the assistance of Danilo Fortunato, LUUANDA is financed by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and supported by the BAI Academy, THIS IS NOT A WHITE CUBE, Geração 80, the BNI Bank, the Thomson Art House Hotel, the Bessangana Restaurant and Axi Lwanda. The initiative revolves around the experience of living the contemporary city of Luanda, through its characters, rhythms, poetry, nostalgia and drama. The presentation of the artists' work will take place on 28 October in the courtyard of Geração 80 (Rua Ramalho Ortigão, Alvalade).

Le collectif culturel "Pés Descalços" (Pieds Nus) réalise la troisième édition de la résidence artistique LUUANDA. Cette année la résidence aura lieu autour du thème "Génération de l'Utopie", et recevra des artistes visuels originaires d'Angola, du Mozambique et de Cap-Vert. Après trois semaines de travail, les artistes Parasol, Stephanie Silva, Eltina Gaspar, Suekí, Avelino Assumate et Silasse Salomone partageront le résultat des recherches réalisées au cours de la résidence, avec le public. Organisée par Carlos Major, avec l'assistance de Danilo Fortunato, LUUANDA est financée par la Fondation Calouste Gulbenkian, et soutenue par l'Académie BAI, THIS IS NOT A WHITE CUBE, Geração 80, la banque BNI, l'Hotel Thomson Art House, le Restaurant Bessangana et Axi Lwanda. L'iniciative s'articule autour de l'expérience qu'est de vivre la ville contemporaine de Luanda, à travers ses personnages, ses rythmes, la poésie, la nostalige et le drame. La présentation du travail des artistes aura lieu le 28 octobre, dans la cour de Geração 80 (Rua Ramalho Ortigão, Alvalade).
